Copper Blush Tablescapes
Happy New Year from The Pop Up Dining Room!
The January blog is a bit late, but that’s because in lieu of making the usual resolutions to abstain from things, this year I’ve decided to devote more time to addressing my work/life balance and I’ve already started! This month I’m entertaining my close friends and family. Yes I know we’ve just had Christmas so I’m not throwing lavish dinner parties but instead serving some cosy kitchen suppers and trying out some of my new tablescape ideas along the way.
Those of you that dabble in Pinterest know that copper blush has become a popular choice for wedding tablescapes and special birthdays in the last year but at The Pop-Up Dining Room we think the elegant and delicate scheme is great for any occasion. The metallic copper and the peachy blush are extremely easy to add as accents combined with neutral linen and gorgeous draped greenery. Greenery being Pantone’s colour of the year for 2107. At this time of year the tones appear warm and inviting and yet in spring and summer they seem fresh and light.
Everybody sees decorative table settings at milestone occasions but there is absolutely no reason why you can't use some of them to add a little bit of glamour when you have a few friends around.
Ideas for creating a copper blush tablescape:
The starting point…
If you have a blush (that peachy, nude pink) tablecloth then that may be all the accent you need. For most of us though a crisp white or natural/grey linen makes a great base.
Next lay the table with neutral plates and cutlery.
The blush accents…
If you are not using a blush tablecloth you can add accents of the colour in the napkins, flowers, candles or by simply tying a blush pink ribbon around a glass candlestick.
The contrasting greenery…
Use long trails of greenery from the garden to trail the length of the centre of your table. You can use fresh herbal greens such as rosemary tied to the napkin.
You could choose glass vases filled with green foliage and the odd blush rose when in season. There are also sweet potted succulents in various tones that compliment this colour scheme. Use what you have to hand.
You can buy bronze/copper dipped Eucalyptus leaves that can be added to white and green napkins or as part of a floral arrangement.
Add light and warmth…
You could use glass candlesticks with blush coloured candles or copper candlesticks/tealight holders with white candles.
You can add more light to the table with warm rose gold coloured fairy lights and metallic tea light holders.
If the idea of getting your friends together to brighten these dark months sounds appealing why not treat yourself at the same time? You can hire The Pop-Up Dining Room to come and cater for you in your own home.
